Caramelized onions Grilled Cheese with apples and Le Grand cheese spread
Time: 20 minutes
Yield : 2 grilled cheese sandwiches
INGREDIENTS
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- ½ red apple, cut into small sticks
- 4 tbsp. tablespoon of Le Grand butter; salty or unsalted
- 4 tbsp. your choice of Le Grand cheese spread
- 1 tbsp Le Grand spicy pesto
- A few sliced romaine lettuce leaves
- 3 tbsp. of thinly sliced flat-leaf parsley
- A teaspoon of minced fresh oregano (optional but very good!)
If you are going through a difficult time you must have loyal allies; here is a good one!
Instructions
- In a frying pan, steam your onions and add the butter towards the end when the onions are cooked and leave to caramelize for ten minutes on low heat
- In a bowl mix: onions, cheese spread, parsley and oregano
- Butter the inside of your bread slices followed by the spicy pesto and add your onion mix
- Add romaine leaves and apples
- Close the sandwich and place on a heated frying pan over low heat
- Butter the exposed side of the bread. Grill 3 or 4 minutes and turn the grilled cheese and butter this side
- Heat this side a little and serve
